ImageIn our last weekly meeting, I noticed that there were some changes that were apparent like re-arranging the table/sitting arrangement. Another is the presence of the old members like former Councilor Utol Castillo and Board Member Danny Uy as well as the attendance of the prospective members. There was a lively and intelligent discussion and votation on the proposed schedules and other items to enhance the attendance and membership campaign. We could have tackled more important issues but as usual we started very late at 8:30P.M. and finished at 10:30P.M. (don’t worry everything will change for the better starting tonight under the leadership of President Boy Rayos.

The following items have been proposed and some have been voted upon.

  • Starting tonight, we will start at 6:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. (fellowship/dinner). At exactly 7:00P.M. President Rayos will call the meeting to order and will end at exactly 8:30P.M. Fellowship follows. [majority voted and will be ratified tonight].
  • Every member will pay Php100.00 for dinner credit, drinks extra (present or absent members will pay Php100.00) [voted affirmatively].
  • Fine should be standard for everybody Php50.00 to 100.00 only (not everybody is rich but commitment is necessary) [pending]
  • The breakdown of the Php5,000.00 annual dues. [pending]
  • Whatever amount a member solicits for the ads will be deducted from his annual dues [pending]
  • Dress code [pending]
  • No smoking while we are in a meeting [proposed/pending]
  • Weekly guest speaker
  • Everybody should be committed in helping our club to attain its old glory.

I feel positive that if we could implement the above changes, we could attract new, quality members as well as the re-activation of the old members.

Together, as committed Rotarians, we could make our club as a role model for the whole district.
